A Quick Guide to HD Wedding Videos
What is High Definition?
The quality of the picture is much sharper and improvement over standard videos can only be described as stunning.
Will my Wedding Video be filmed in High Definition?
See "What Will It Cost Me" below.
Can you put an HD version of my wedding onto DVD?
High Definition Video gives you up to five times more resolution and as a result, the size of the video files are five times larger. Fitting this large amount of video onto a standard DVD is just not possible.
What Are Blu-ray Discs?
In order to give you High Definition, a new ‘Super DVD’ was released some time ago. It’s especially designed for High Definition Video. These new discs are called Blu-ray Discs.
Can I play Blu-ray on my DVD player?
Blu-ray discs can't be played on a standard DVD player. You need a Blu-ray player in order to view them. The Playstation 3 is also a Blu-ray player. Blu-ray players are now available in electrical retailers for around £300. Like all new technology, the players are initially quite expensive, but will drop in price quite quickly just as DVD players did. Whichever player you choose you will also need an HD Ready TV.
Most of the Hollywood film studios including Disney, are now releasing their films on Blu-ray Discs.
So, is it worth it?
Your wedding is a special day and to have it filmed in High definition just makes it that more special. Once you have watched a video filmed in High definition you’ll never want to watch standard definition TV and standard DVD, s again.
What will it Cost me
Because we understand that very few people currently have the ability to play Blu-Ray DVDs and because of the cost of high definition tapes, we are producing all weddings in standard DVD format. Blu-Ray HD will be an optional extra needing to be booked before hand, at an extra cost of £150. For this you will receive your wedding in standard DVD format, plus an extra copy in HD on a Blu-Ray disc, therefore giving you the ability to see your wedding in stunning HD when you do purchase a Blu-Ray player.
